If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to strap a pair of goggles to your face, fire up a tiny angry robot with propellers, and attempt to fly like a Jedi with the motor skills of a baby giraffe well, you’re in good company. I started this blog to record my glorious journey into the chaotic, thrilling, and occasionally humbling world of FPV (First Person View) quadcopters.
Here, you’ll find the real story behind learning to fly: the triumphs, the faceplants (mine and the quad’s), and the many, many hours spent wondering why my drone suddenly decided it wanted to be a lawn dart. From racing between trees at speeds that make squirrels nervous to freestyle flips that sometimes end in dramatic slow-mo crashes, I’m documenting it all, mistakes included—so you don’t have to make the same ones (or so you can laugh when I do).
Whether you’re just getting started, deep in the hobby, or just here for the crash footage, I’m glad you stopped by. Grab a coffee, plug in your batteries, and let’s get airborne—with a little wobble, a lot of learning, and hopefully fewer propeller-shaped bruises.
Best of all, you should learn too. Join NAFL’s discord channel below, or meet up at an event.
